Welcome to Wingerworth Fencing Club
WFC was founded in 2000 and caters predominantly for epee, although foil and sabre are available. Our members range from 8 to 60+ in age and include absolute beginners, social fencers, competitive fencers, national champions and wheelchair fencers. We regard ourselves as the best epee club in the East Midlands, attracting fencers from the local area and outside the region.
New members are always welcome, either experienced or complete beginners. The club is well equipped and has many qualified coaches on hand to help everyone reach their potential. We run a number of beginner courses throughout the year, so you shouldn't have to wait too long to give it a go.
We have recently purchased a complete set of wheelchair fencing equipment and with the help of London Paralympian Simon Wilson, we aim to establish a thriving wheelchair fencing club. Wheelchair fencing is open to anyone with mobility problems, not just wheelchair users.
Fencing is a fantastic way to socialise and get or keep fit. Forget about the gym, come fencing, it's a lot more fun. If you don't believe us, come along one evening and have a look or maybe even have a go.
WFC are pleased to announce our newest sponsor The Wingerworth Pub & Kitchen on the A61 between Chesterfield and Clay Cross.
WFC achieved charitable status on 11th February 2014 and has been entered into the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number 1155733. WFC is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which combines Charitable status and limited liability for its members.
